On Wednesday 10th July 2024, GBADs and DECIDE hosted the fifth official Seminar in a series between the two projects. The aim of each presentation this year is to continue presenting research that interests our audience. You can find the recording of both talks below as well as the presentations of both.
Dr. Cecile Walde (Norwegian Veterinary Institute), started the talk by introducing ‘The biological and economic impact of delousing farmed Atlantic salmon in Norway’ which developed a discussion after the presentations. This then followed nicely into Dr. Annette Boerlage (Scotland’s Rural College) , who presented ‘Advanced Health Management in Salmon Farming: Data, tools and economic impact’ which supported the linkages between the two presentations and also provided a couple of the discussions at the end of the seminar for future next steps. The final presentation saw Anne Meyer (Episystemic/University of Liverpool) give a flashtalk on ‘First pass at quantifying the all-cause disease burden borne by shrimp grow-out farmers in Indonesia’ which followed on from a Workshop that Anne coordinated in Indonesia in May 2024. It was great to continue the series into this year with a interesting discussion on the topic at the end of the sessions.
We would like to thank Cecile, Annette and Anne for presenting to the consortium. If you would like to hear more about the Seminar Series, please contact gbads@liverpool.ac.uk
