On Thursday 10th October 2024, GBADs and DECIDE hosted the sixth official Seminar in a series between the two projects. The aim of each presentation this year is to continue presenting research that interests our audience. You can find the recording of both talks below as well as the presentations of both.
Cecilia Baumberger, a veterinarian from University of Buenos Aires started the seminar by presenting her recent publication ‘Exposure practices to animal-origin Influenza A Virus at the animal-human interface in poultry and swine backyard farms’ which can be accessed here. Cecilia’s area of research is based on the study of factors associated with the risk of human exposure to avian and swine influenza virus in backyard production systems.
The second presentation of the seminar came from Maria Costa Maria is a veterinarian and lecturer in veterinary epidemiology at Scotland’s Rural College (SRUC), based in Inverness. Maria combines data analysis with her veterinary background to provide insights that support farmers and national authorities, while also actively engaging in teaching and knowledge exchange.
We would like to thank Cecilia and Maria for presenting to the consortium. If you would like to hear more about the Seminar Series, please contact gbads@liverpool.ac.uk
