World Vaccines Congress Europe 2019

William Gilbert presented on the Economic Analysis of Vaccine Use and the Global Burden of Animal Diseases (GBADs) at the World Vaccine Congress Europe in Barcelona (28th to 31st October). He showed that economics work completed in the SAPHIR project was based on modelling to fill extensive data gaps, and this kind of analysis could be very much improved with the sort of global data system that GBADs is looking to build.

The Chair of Will’s session, Cyril Gay of the USDA, was enthusiastic about the work presented and the GBADs programme, stating that it would become ever more important to animal health strategy.

The audience included academics, but also representatives of the major veterinary pharmaceutical manufacturers and policy makers.
