The week commencing 22nd May, 2023 saw the 90th WOAH General Session take place in Paris. During the week, GBADs were given the opportunity to conduct a side event. There were approximately 100 participants, including WOAH Delegates, individuals from the private sector, public sector, academia and research institutes. All WOAH regions were represented.

The side event started with an overview of GBADs from Director, Prof. Rushton, which was followed by a summary of the Ethiopian Case Study experience to date, including results of the burden estimates, by Dr Gashaw of the Ethiopian Ministry of Agriculture. Next, a panel discussion was facilitated by Edna Kallon, during which participants shared their advice and ideas on how GBADs information could support improved business cases for investment in animal health. the panel members were:
