On Wednesday 28th May 2025, GBADs and DECIDE hosted the eighth official Seminar in a series between the two projects. The aim of each presentation this year is to continue presenting research that interests our audience. You can find the recording of all the talks below.
The three presenters; Professor Ilias Kyriazakis, Dr Di Mayberry, and Dr Angela Bearth, all provided insightful presentations with an engaging discussion at the end with various questions from the audience.
Ilias, who started the seminar, is a Professor of Animal and Veterinary Science at Queen’s University Belfast, leading work on improving animal health to reduce livestock emissions. This was then followed by Di, who is a Principal Research Scientist at CSIRO, with a focus on sustainable livestock systems. In GBADs, she is working with her colleagues on the GBADs Indonesian Case Study and leads the Populations and Production Systems theme. We then ended the seminar with Angela, who is a Senior Scientist and partner at HF Partners, who supports organisations and authorities in addressing the challenges associated with risks to security and safety. Their mission is to offer effective and pragmatic solutions to make better decisions and to communicate better about risk and uncertainty, and she leads the DECIDE WP5, which looks at behavioural patterns of decision-makers in animal disease management and how they respond to data-driven decision tool implementations.
We would like to thank Ilias, Di, and Angela for presenting to the consortium. If you would like to hear more about the Seminar Series, please contact gbads@liverpool.ac.uk
